First off, you can never have too many diapers! With all the options of cute prints and colors out there today, you'll want to buy them all but if you are truly wanting to save money, the general rule is 2.5 time the number of changes per day. This assumes you'll be washing every other day.
Newborns: 24 to 36 diapers (consider our newborn cloth diaper rental program)
Infants: 18-24 diapers
Toddlers: 12 -18 diapers
Notes:
- If you are using an All-in-Two system (or prefolds/flats and covers), you will want 1 shell for every 3 changes.
- You may have a few special diapers just for night time like a Sloomb Fitted Diaper or Grovia O.N.E.
- You may have a few special "easy" cloth diapers for baby sitters. We suggest Thirsties Natural Fiber AIO with Hook and Loop Closure.
- You may have a newborn stash and a one-size stash.
